ThrowBRICK Thursday

This is one of my favorite homemade minifigs of Noah: Mr. Fantastic!

I love that he has stretched and unstretched leg options! And that he can bend!

I also find it adorable that Noah painted Sinestro's hair with liquid paper to make Reed's hair.

Noah saw me writing this post and asked why I like this creation of his so much. The LONG and SHORT of it: This LONG minifig is nothing SHORT of amazing!

ThrowBRICK Thursday

What my then new LEGO phone case led to... A movie theater for Noah's minifigs. Funny that they're watching a LEGO movie - LEGO Harry Potter. More funny that Captain America is watching a movie!

In case you're wondering what my LEGO phone case originally looked like before it was converted into a moviehouse...

Fast-forward to early this year when Noah got my old phone together with my case... Because the studs at the back hurt his hand, he put smooth tiles at the back (I took out 1 black tile piece to show the studs that hurt his hand).

I didn't notice it at first but if you zoom out, the smooth black & white tiles actually form the Apple logo! And if you zoom in, you'll see electric tape on some tiles because Noah didn't have enough smooth black tiles.

I love that my LEGO phone case turned into a blank canvas for Noah's LEGO creativity!

Photos are my own and from Amazon.com.

ThrowBRICK Thursday

May the four(teen)th be with you! Okay, I missed it by 10 days. Actually, I really missed it by 3 years and 10 days because these are Noah's 2012 creations.

Noah's homemade hand-drawn R2D2 is my absolute favorite of his Star Wars collection!

I love that he formed LEGO letters as the stand for his minifigs.

S - Padme with baby Luke and baby Leah, T - Obi Wan, A - Luke, R - R2D2.

W - Sith guard, A - kid Luke, R - Chewy, S - Chancellor.

But the ones I will write Tatooine about are the ones with hand-drawn shirts like Luke...

Padme with her babies (hehe)...

X-Wing Pilot Luke...

As Yoda challenged in The Empire Strikes Back, "Judge me by my size, do you?" Certainly, these homemade minifigs should not be judged by their size. In my book, they're larger than life because they are proof of Noah's imagination & creativity. As Yoda also said in Attack of the Clones, "Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is".

ThrowBRICK Thursday

Noah was obsessed with Ninjago during this time. Since he already had the white, blue, red & black (still in its box) Ninjagos and we couldn't find the green one and Sensei Wu, he made his own!

He turned Dumbledore's beard white with paper and made a ninja mask out of paper! I was amazed at how he sculpted the paper to make a helmet.

I also love the origami-like shoulder armor made out of paper.

Sadly, my perfectionist Noah wasn't happy with these so we eventually ended up buying a real green Ninjago and a real Sensei Wu minifig. But I much prefer the homemade ones!

For me, the hand-drawn, handcrafted details on Noah's handmade minifigs are way more special than the store-bought ones.

ThrowBRICK Thursday

In keeping with Throwback Thursdays, I've decided to share Noah's old LEGO creations every Thursday via this series called "ThrowBRICK Thursday". Hehe.

After the first Avengers movie, Noah custom-made Avengers minifigs here. A month later, he made a bigger set of the Avengers out of LEGO bricks (not minifig parts), paper and markers!

Homemade Hulk... The abs are adorable, hahaha!

Homemade Captain America... I love that the legs aren't aligned, that one leg is at the foreground. It's a clever detail that makes them seem more like legs.

Homemade Black Widow... Her flat red brick as hair made me smile. :)

Homemade Nick Fury...

While I am amazed at Noah's more detailed and realistic creations nowadays, I can't help miss these more simple creations of his... These ones with drawings that are more obviously done by a child. Yet equally amazing because he was only 7 at this time!
